Research
Research
As part of our UX debt review sessions, I had pitched updating our dashboard. At the time this was a minimal screen which provided no real information or tasks for users, who can go months between using the platform due to the nature of the content on it.
I began researching other platform dashboards such as, Hubspot, Salesforce and Monday.com, to gather reference and started to ideate options. At this time I had minimal buy-in from stakeholders, making this very much a side project.

Design
Design
The core aim of the design was to provide structure and data at a glance to our users. I tried a range of design iteration with a focus on making what's important accessible such as, profile completeness, product verification and headline stats from analytics.
While creating the dashboard, an example of a user persona I created was, a marketing manager needs to put a presentation together quickly to report monthly stats. I used this as reference throughout the dashboard design.

Development
Development
With development in mind, I created the design within a grid system to allow for iterative release. Again this side project had minimal buy-in, so wanted to make it as digestible as possible within our development sprint structure. I proposed a phased release which allowed the dashboard to be delivered across multiple sprints. Which led to this ultimately being greenlit.
Having a frontend development background, I knew the design could be responsive and fit the proposed release plan well. Additionally this would scale down to mobile seamlessly, for viewing information on the go from a user perspective.

Solution
Solution
The completed dashboard provided a well rounded, actionable, data dense experience with scope to become customisable in the future, allowing for even more personalisation for users and their specific needs.
I presented this to multiple stakeholders and within our sprint reviews to much success. Internally this was a smash hit, "Vastly superior" to our previous dashboard.

Impact
Impact
From a UX perspective, users were very happy with the overall improvements. We were able to track click through rates with Heap our analytics tool of choice.
Moreover, I was able to implement various upsell messages based on the users existing subscription, providing specifically tailored upsell messages for NBS products but also links off to our sister company Glenigan. As a result, we saw an uptick in click through rates between NBS and Glenigan as a result.
